Free Expression: Creative Writing with Jenny Lindsay (Sat 27th July)
a workshop opportunity for new and experienced writers!
Apparently, a great deal of my subscribers are in the States, but for those of you in or near Edinburgh, I am delighted to be running one of my full-day creative writing workshops in the gorgeous Saltire Society, nestled down a wee close off the Royal Mile. It’s a space very dear to me and it will be lovely to be back there for the first time since 2019! The workshop runs from 11:30am til 4:30pm on Saturday 27th July.
Official blurb: This full-day workshop is designed to help participants write more freely, whether that is overcoming writer's block or challenging one's inner critic. This workshop will take participants through a series of creative exercises that will challenge self-censorship, avoid perfectionism, and lead playfully to the start of new poetry and prose pieces. No works of literary genius will be permitted in the workshop: this is all about having fun with words! This workshop is suitable for both new and experienced writers.
The ticket price covers tea, coffee, water and snacks. There will be a lunch break at 1pm and comfort breaks too.
You can nab your ticket here.
The workshop is reeeeeeaaaallly soon, so if you know anyone who might be interested in attending I’d be so grateful if you could let them know! If you are a Founding Member of my Substack, you can email me to take up your free place, as per my Subscriber plan.
A new essay will be out soon, but I thought I’d use the opportunity for promotion via here, given I’ve fifteen days to fill the (albeit limited) spaces! I hope it’s of interest to some of you! xx
Would LOVE to come to this but will be on holiday. Another time, I hope!
Yay booked myself in!
